Prof. Elizabeth Asiedu is an accomplished international economist and academic leader with over two decades of experience in research, teaching, and global policy advocacy. She is the Founder and President of the Association for the Advancement of African Women Economists (AAAWE), a pioneering organization that promotes the academic and professional growth of African women in the field of economics.

Her research interests include foreign direct investment, gender and development, institutional quality, and the economics of Sub-Saharan Africa. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles in prestigious economics journals and has served as a reviewer and editorial board member for several international publications.

Prof. Asiedu has consulted for global institutions such as the World Bank, United Nations, African Development Bank, and USAID, and her work has significantly influenced development policy in emerging economies. She is a recipient of multiple awards recognizing her contributions to gender equity, academic excellence, and international development.

In addition to her research and policy work, she is a dedicated educator and mentor, having supervised numerous graduate students and delivered keynote speeches at major academic and development conferences worldwide.
